A Christmas Eve Promise: Before boarding his flight, James proposes that they meet at the Pentatonix concert the following Christmas Eve if they're both single. Although hesitant due to her current boyfriend, Tanner, Layla agrees.
A Heartbreak and a New Beginning: Layla breaks up with Tanner after catching him cheating just days before Christmas. Devastated but determined to move on, she focuses on her career and personal growth.  
A Year Later: As Christmas Eve approaches, Layla finds herself single and unexpectedly drawn to the idea of fulfilling her promise to James. She heads to the Pentatonix concert, hoping for a chance encounter.
A Twist of Fate: At the concert, Layla meets James again, but he's with another woman. Disappointed but not defeated, she decides to enjoy the night with her friends.
A Second Chance: Later that evening, Layla and James have a heartfelt conversation, realizing their connection and the missed opportunity. They agree to give their relationship a chance.
