Protesters are defying a ban in the Netherlands' capital to demonstrate in the city's Dam Square. Rallies in support of Palestine have been banned after a week of violence in Amsterdam.

It comes as parliamentarians held an emergency debate about the post-football match riots in the capital.

Far-right politician, Geert Wilders, says those convicted of the violence against Israeli football fans must be deported.

But opposition members are accusing the leader of dividing the country.

Last week, Israeli football fans visiting the city were attacked after they provoked anger with anti-Arab chants, and violence
