hese are great budget friendly, well made, accurate and reliable rifles.

The best ones are the “JM” marked barrels made before the New Jersey gun ban days- they had 22” barrels with 18+1 capacity . Some in the late 80’s and early 90’s had last shot bolt hold opens.

The newer “ban” models often still have “JM” marked barrels up into the 1990’s, but have 18” or 18.5” barrels and 14+1 round capacity. They are still good guns, but not as desirable as the older models.

You can find these with nicer checkered stocks, “squirrel” stocks, and often they are very inexpensive.

They often have issues with broken/cracked buffers, worn out recoil springs, and bent ejector wires, but all those parts can be found very inexpensively online, and they are easy to maintain once you know how to.

The micro grooved barrel has 16 lands and grooves that are very shallow, which give light grip on the bullet, and net very accurate results out of the factory barrels.

Don’t pass these up! They’re great buys often!
