RIght of Way, Yielding to Manatees

While canoeing with a friend yesterday we saw a couple of manatees in a small creek. The manatees were heading right for us so we each moved as far to the side of the creek as possible to let them pass. They stopped for a quick "hello" and went on their way.
Although manatees are usually in larger bodies of water, they sometimes go into creeks like this that are so small it must be hard to turn around.
