Joy Reid On Hegseth Pick: Trump's Moving Quickly To Fill Out The "Clown Car" & Round Out His Cabinet

Posted • November 13, 2024: The left is melting down over President-elect Donald Trump's choice of Pete Hegseth for Secretary of Defense. Sen. Elizabeth Warren attacked him as "unqualified," perhaps not even understanding he was a decorated veteran with a 20-year military background. But she claimed authority to say that since she "leads" a military personnel panel in the Senate and her brothers served. So you know the Democrats are going to try to fight Hegseth's approval. But Warren got buried by people in response on X. Warren wasn't the only one losing her mind. Some in the defense world were upset and Scott Jennings took down the critics on CNN. Some of the usual suspects in the media were also losing their minds. Here's Jim Acosta, rearing his ridiculous head again. "In a sign he has been making his cabinet selections while watching TV, Trump picks Fox anchor Pete Hegseth for Secretary of Defense," Acosta tweeted.

So just like Warren, he isn't being honest/informative about Hegseth's actual background. Some "journalist" -- he can't even be bothered to do five minutes of research on Hegseth's background. Fox's Janice Dean said somehow Acosta missed Hegseth's "three deployments including Iraq and Afghanistan with Two Bronze Stars in your smug little post." Fox contributor Ben Domenech noted Acosta's "experience" consisted of "his two Bronze stars for combat in the White House press room." Fox contributor Joe Concha laughed at him, speculating he might be out the door in the cuts coming to CNN, "You’ll never guess who will be one of the first to be let go when CNN does its massive cuts next month…" MSNBC's Joy Reid's take was similarly ignorant, and she also got ratioed: It’s not even funny how out of touch with reality Joy Reid is. She’s easily one of the most hateful pundits in the media.

She just disrespected a combat veteran & selfless American patriot who’s dedicated his entire life for our country. This is why MSNBC is in the tubes. You could tell she was mad as heck as she tried to mock Trump and Hegseth. She obviously isn't absorbing the Democrats' crushing electoral defeat very well. One of the most strident criticisms was from actor Michael Rapaport, who bashed her "fear-mongering." -- “Secretary of Defense nominee Pete Hegseth is a combat veteran with 20+ years of service. He did tours in Iraq and Afghanistan, receiving two bronze stars. Hegseth has a BA from Princeton and a master's degree from Harvard. Joy Reid is a con artist race hustler fake news complete bullshit artist. She’s reason 118 why Kamala lost,the fear mongering opinion media veiled as “NEWS.” Blame yourself JoylessJoy.” -- Is it any wonder MSNBC and CNN are tanking when the people they have put out hot takes like Reid and Acosta? Reid's show was one of the ones that was down more than 50 percent post-election.

Maybe attacking a decorated veteran with 20 years in the military and a master's degree from Harvard, who headed up groups for veterans, isn't a great look? But folks like Jim Acosta and Joy Reid keep going down that same road and then wondering why no one trusts them, why they lose and why they are being rejected. Meanwhile, what this says about Trump is that he's thinking proactively, unlike Democrats who only react and thus are constantly playing catchup. He's thinking about what SecDef should be focusing on -- the actual defense of the nation.
