Couple who built porch extension to protect home from burglars told it will be demolished
6 years ago
A couple who spent £2,500 on a porch extension to protect their home from burglars have been told it will be demolished - because it's “harmful” to the character of the area.
George, 74, and Patricia Owen, 76, have been left incredibly “upset” by the decision to tear down the porch which will be carried out by council officials on Tuesday (June 19).
They felt like “prisoners in their own home” after being burgled in September last year and decided to build the porch because it offered better security and protection.
