I wrote the following comment in the page:

"Thank you for publishing this podcast. I am a survivor of male to male at age 11 and of a prolongued episode of "man-boy" sexual & psychological abuse between ages 16 and 18. The second episode happened at the hands of a "trusted person of authority". In 1997 I was seeing a therapist about this in Miami, Fla. His approach was that "I should not empower the trauma" by making it worst than what it was. He explained to me that survivors of sexual trauma often make the impact of the trauma worst in their heads, they re-live and aggravate the trauma in their heads by remembering it over and over again; which triggers rage... over time this can lead to narcotics or alcohol abuse...and finally suicide... I have found in recent years that Compassion Focused Therapy helps a lot."

"The issue of sextortion is a real problem; a lot of the MeToo types are motivated by man hatred and desire to extort money from men. Women blackmail men whom they feel have wronged them (for example because a guy blows them off at a bar or leaves them for another woman); the woman tells them that if they do not give in to their demands for money they will go to the police and report them for rape. Men give in, the police do not believe them if they report the exortion because the woman argues that it is an attempt to cover up the alleged sexual abuse and the police will believe the woman."

The problem is not confined to the Anglican Communion.

John Smyth was only one of many boy abusers. The problem is endemic to modern Western Institutional Christendom and transcends just one church.

Between the ages of 16 and 18 (1991 to 1993) I was involved in a sordid relationship with a certain Father Hooper who subjected me, under psychological manipulation & subtle blackmail, to sadist sexual practises: spankings, anilingus, fellatio and sodomy.

When I saw the news reports, about John Smyth, I immediately recalled "the happy memories" of my high school years extra-curricular activities.
