Trump names Elon Musk to role leading government efficiency drive

Donald Trump has appointed Elon Musk to lead an initiative aimed at improving government efficiency. Musk, alongside entrepreneur Vivek Ramaswamy, will head a new department focused on reducing bureaucracy, cutting regulations, and restructuring federal agencies. Their efforts are expected to conclude by July 4, 2026. The two will seek advice from external experts and collaborate with the Office of Management and Budget (OMB). Additionally, Ramaswamy has announced that he is withdrawing from the race for the Ohio Senate seat.
