To give the kids a voice, the community a voice," 128 people recorded a message that will soon be sent to Matt Stratman's family. They're hoping the Lakota West High School lacrosse player, lying in a coma in a hospital, will also hear their words of encouragement. Taping the messages was Leslie Renneker’s idea. She a family friend. So she brought a camera to a car wash fundraiser over the weekend. “If Matt can hear, which we believe he can, I thought it would be important to get all those voices in his hospital room, so they can feel like they’re there with him, and Matt can feel like they’re there with them,” Renneker said.
