8. In the Fire with the LORD | Dr. David Jeremiah

In this lesson we learn why there is no danger in the presence of God. Critics of God say "bad things happen because God isn’t loving enough to care or powerful enough to stop them." Either way, God is condemned. But the Bible presents God as both loving and powerful, and challenges those subject to harm to trust in Him. Covers Daniel 3.19-30.

The very trials we resist are God's methods of revealing Himself to us and bringing us to a closer fellowship with Him than we can ever know otherwise. -- Dr. Jeremiah

We should obey the powers that be until they tell us to disobey and dishonor God (Rom. 13:1), then we should obey God rather than man (Acts 5:29). If we are called to pass through the fire, Christ walked there before us, and He will walk there with us (John 15:20), and nothing will be lost by being true to Him. -- K. Brooks
