Around the early summer of 2021 when the the Delta Variant outbreak was occurring, medical groups were doing media appearances to quell the public's interest in using Ivermectin or Hydroxycholorquine (HCQ) to treat COVID-19 patients.

One trend during this time period was to demonize these treatments, convince potential patients they were unsafe, or disprove them to be "effective" for COVID.

Dr. Gerald Harmon, the President of the American Medical Association (AMA), was one of the doctors promoting these claims to quell the use of potential and/or proven cures to treat COVID that were safe, approved by the FDA, and very affordable.

The America Medical Association (AMA), American Pharmacists Association (APA), and American Society of Health-Systems Pharmacists (ASHP) were the three groups calling for an immediate end to prescribe Ivermectin outside of studies.
