Matthew 22:1-46

Jesus Christ compared the kingdom of heaven to the wedding of the son of a king. He sent his servants to invite people to come to the party, but they did not want to come. Then the Pharisees, Sadducees, and scribes tried to ask questions to catch Jesus, but Jesus answered them wonderfully.

The people who came to the party were both those who were called good people and those who were called bad people. No matter who we are, this invitation is for us as well.

This invitation is not because we deserve it, but because God wants to be merciful to us. We are the ones who have come to the party of God, so we should act worthy of those who have received this invitation.

We have entered the kingdom of heaven of God, not because we have done what is called good, but because of the grace of God, and by that grace we should live a life that honors God the Most High.

Jesus knew that those who came to ask Him did not want to know the truth, but to catch Him. But look!!! My brothers and sisters Jesus was patient with them and answered all their questions.

See what? We who claim to be believers in Jesus Christ, we who claim to be followers of Jesus Christ, we too should be patient with people who have bad behaviors, using Jesus Christ as our good example.

How can we apply this 22nd chapter of Matthew in our daily lives to create good results? "The kingdom of heaven is prepared for those who do not deserve it, and it is prepared for those who willingly accept God's invitation."

The chief priests, Pharisees, Sadducees, and teachers tried to send people to ask questions to find fault with Jesus Christ, but He answered them profoundly. When Jesus asked them back, no one could answer.

✝️✝️ Jesus Christ told a parable about the wedding banquet to explain that God had prepared salvation for the Jews, but the Jews rejected and harmed and killed the people God had sent. Therefore, salvation went to the Gentiles, who normally did not deserve this salvation.

At the same time, when the unworthy people came to the party, the host had prepared clothes for each guest. But if any guest still refused to wear clothes to make himself suitable for the party, that person would be thrown out of the party.

Today!!! By the grace of God, we have received an invitation to the Lord's banquet. God has prepared the clothes of righteousness for us through faith and trust in Jesus Christ. If anyone, even though he is called a Christian, does not really believe in Jesus Christ. For he was righteous, he could not be righteous.

Therefore, he could not enter into the banquet of God on the last day. Today!!! Are we truly righteous?

Whoever is not sure of this answer, he is in great danger. As for those who are truly righteous in their souls, they will reflect it as living righteously, a life that is not happy with sin, a life that hates sin. Even if it cannot be done perfectly, at least it will continue in that direction more and more.

We should also take this matter seriously, because Jesus warned, "Many are invited, but few are chosen."

✝️✝️ The Pharisees and Herodians came to find fault with Jesus by asking, "Is it proper to pay tribute to Caesar?" That is, the Roman emperor who ruled Palestine at that time.

If Jesus answered "No," it would be against Roman law. If Jesus answered "Yes," the people would think that Jesus was siding with the Romans whom they hated.

Jesus asked them, "Whose image and inscription is this?" He meant, who was the image on the coin? They said, "The image of Caesar." Jesus answered them, "Therefore, give to Caesar the things that are Caesar's." That means that taxes should be paid according to the law. "And God's to God." That means, everything we have belongs to God. We should use everything we have for God, for His people.

Today!!! What we have, who we have, what we have, who we have? When we understand that it is ours, we will use these things for ourselves. But if we realize that everything we have belongs to God. We should use all of this for Him.

✝️✝️ The Sadducees, a wealthy group in the Sanhedrin, who had little knowledge of the Bible, came to test Jesus.

They did not believe in the resurrection, so they asked questions to mock the resurrection. Jesus explained to them that the reason they did not understand was because they did not know the Word of God, because they did not know the power of God.

Today!!! If we do not know the Word of God, or even if we do know it but do not believe it, we will not be able to know the will of God correctly. Instead, we will create our own perspective and then claim that it is the will of God.

✝️✝️ In this chapter of Matthew, there is a mystery of heaven that is opened: when we rise from the dead, we will be like angels who will no longer be husbands and wives.
