Post-Conditioning Pulling

For my 1st pull, this training cycle I’ve regularly used the Hammer Strength horizontal row. Not being in a bent over, hip-hinged position allows me to focus on the pull with minimal fatigue from axial loading

Next, for a vertical pull I did wide-grip cable lat pulldowns. I always initiate the pull with a lean backward of my torso along with downward “pullover” tension on the attachment to engage the lats. Then, as I pull, I focus on the squeeze down at the lats insertion point down by my waist and think of my arms as “hooks” to hold the bar

For an accessory, I then do rear-delt reverse flyes on the Hammer Strength Pec-Deck. I did sets of 15+ reps at 1-2 RIR

Last, I finished with Lifefitness Neutral-grip Seated Machine Rows. Similar to the Hammer Strength Horizontal Rows except with a different grip and force curve it’s a variation on a similar theme. Lats, upper back, rear delts, it’s just a 1-stop shopping finisher to get use out of whatever tissues still have something left in them
