TYLIQ is 23 years old and six months pregnant with his first child. Tyliq began transitioning when he was a teenager. Tyliq said: “It’s really a journey, you’re learning yourself all over again.” He got pregnant through insemination and was so emotional when the pregnancy test came back positive. He said: “I think I cried myself to sleep because it’s something that I’ve always wanted.” The father-to-be started sharing his story on social media and has had a lot of support online but has also experienced a lot of negativity from trolls accusing him of confusing his child and questioning why he transitioned then had a baby. He said: “It’s not their baby, they’re not raising her. As long as she’s filled with the right amount of love and respect, I feel like the negative would never outweigh the positive.” Tyliq’s grandma Marceline and his sister Marleshia were initially shocked when he shared his pregnancy news but they are fully supportive of him and excited to welcome a new addition to the family. He added: “I want to give my child a great childhood. She will always have me, I will always be there. My responsibility will always be to take care of her.”
