⭐ The Indie Media Awards - Reviewing the 2023 Honorees & their Zago Brothers Illustrations

Indie Left Media recently celebrated its 4th anniversary as a champion for independent media, aggregating & publishing independent analysis & opinion - all free from corporate advertiser influence. We’ve closely followed & shared articles, podcasts & videos from hundreds of independent outlets, freelance journalists, podcasters & analysts over those 4+ years. Out of those hundreds, there is absolutely a small group who have emerged as standouts - the “best-of-the-best.”

In August 2022, Indie, founder of Indie Left Media and Indie News Network, collaborated with Misty Winston & Action4Assange to create the Indie Media Awards. (https://indiemediaawards.substack.com) The concept was to honor the best in independent media in 5 categories: Top Independent Journalists, Top Independent Livestreamers & Podcasters, Top Independent Outlets, Top Independent Video Creators and a category for Activists & Special Honorees.

This group of independents often goes unrecognized in an ocean of media across a multitude of platforms and formats. They rarely get the big payout, because that’s not why they’re doing what they do, but we can, at the very least, give a big Thank You & show a small token of our appreciation for their work. This is not to slight anyone, as there are dozens of others we could have also potentially chosen, but these are the people and organizations whose content have most consistently appeared in the content we’ve shared and shows we’ve produced.

The Class of 2022 had 38 honorees; the Class of 2023 added 30 honorees to the inaugural class. The Class of 2024 has 19 members.

Join us on Sunday, November 3, 2024 as we replay Sunday night's special episode of How Did We Miss That to the 3rd annual Indie Media Awards: announcing, introducing & celebrating this year’s honorees, simulcast on all of Indie News Network’s channels. We commissioned artist Zago Brothers to create Black & White digital illustrations representing the likenesses of all the honorees and will be revealing many of those for the first time as well.
