Today we're going to talk about phrasal verbs. Now a lot of people fear these very special verbs in English. We're going to look today at what they are. What makes a phrasal verb different from a normal verb? Well, the phrasal verb has at least two parts, sometimes three. These are adverbs or particles. So for instance, if we have the verb come,

We can add a particle, come up, come down, come in, come down on, come through, come with. These are all examples of phrasal verbs. Now, what makes them difficult? Well, there are many, many, many. Can you guess how many phrasal verbs there are? The answer is over 5,000. So this makes phrasal verbs very, very difficult.
