Tribute to my Father

On this Veteran's Day, November 11, 2024, I would like to pay tribute to my father, aka Haley and Ashley's Grandfather, Calvin Robert Graf. Born January 4, 1924 in Abilene, TX. As a young kid, he loved listening to "The Shadow" Radio Show and reading "Shadow" pulp magazines. He graduated from FOX Tech High School in San Antonio, TX and joined the military during World War II. After serving 3 years in the military, he attended San Antonio College and graduated from The University of Texas at Austin in 1957 with a Bachelor of Science in Physics. He married the love of his life, Edla Jean Smith, on May 31, 1952 and had two children, Larry Wayne and Michael Robert Graf. He worked for Philco Electronics while stationed in Japan. In 1959 he joined the Civil Service of the Air Force at Kelly Air Force Base in San Antonio, TX. He worked in a highly classified position for the Department of Defense as an Electronic Engineer specializing in Radio and Radar. He retired from the DOD in June of 1989 and passed away on October 15, 1989. Rest in Peace POPs. I love you.
