Bombegranate costs 150 Sun. (-25 Sun on levels 4 and 9.)
Bombegranate does 1,800 damage to all zombies in a 3x3 area when planted. (+100 per level until level 7.)
Bombegranate leaves behind bomblets in the same 3x3 area.
Each bomblet does 200 damage to zombies which step on it. (+50 damage per level until level 9.)

Commentary:
In gaming parlance, Bombegranate is strictly superior to Cherry Bomb. In other words, if you have both plants, choose Bombegranate as it can do everything that Cherry Bomb can and more.

Bottom line:
The classics are classics because they are good. Cherry Bomb is such a classic. Yet Bombegranate is better. That tells you all that you need to know.
