*With his transformation into the first of the High Devoted complete, Xo Wu is no longer human. He has become something else, a new version of human much bigger, stronger, faster and durable than the almost eighty year old Xo ever had been or could have been. Traul is horrified. All he ever wanted was to cure his biological father to have more time with him but, instead, he transformed Xo into an abomination. Gabriella, his wife, pleads for Traul to end this, to destroy what Xo has become if for nothing more than to protect their yet to be born child, but Traul refuses. He believes to his core he can change his father back, keep him cured of his cancer yet bring back his humanity, yet he does not realize how tragically wrong his is. All the other scientists who saw the energy source of the Nightmare Relief as their way to create something amazing for many a government have found no success. That energy source remains something that cannot be duplicated or used to make new weapons or anything else of note. But that loss has not stopped many a government from being very intrigued over the reports Traula has sent to them about what he has done. They see the transformation of Xo as not an abomination but as the first of what might become many a super soldier and they want this new Xo for themselves. Trauls laboratory is invaded by government agents intent on getting Xo transferred into one of their facilities but in the chaos of trying to get to Xo...
