We are going back to 1978 and diving into The Wild Geese on Vintage Cinema Review. Joined with me again is my ole pal, Josh Bullock. Talking about the movie that inspired Hideo Kojima to create the first Metal Gear game on MSX. If that doesn't sell you for a watch, well listen up some more then. This movie is like an old school, 70s style British Expendables type film. Including tons of classic actors like Roger Moore (James Bond 007) and Richard Burton. A team of older gentlemen mercenaries take on one more mission to the Congo, to rescue a President of Africa, and escape with their lives. The film is action packed to the gills, brutal in violence, yet fun and adventurous. You will see a lot of Metal Gear designs, especially if you know the original games. Though, don't expect an actual Metal Gear mech. Roger Moore is smoking a big stogie while stealthy taking out soldiers in a beret ala Snake. But if you enjoy other classic team war flicks like The Dirty Dozen, The Grear Escape, and Where Eagles Dare. This film will be right up your alley. As both big Metal Gear Solid fans over the years and of course, classic war films, we chat all about the picture and of course get led into many side topics along the way.

So, come on by and join us on another adventure of OMO Podcast.
