Orlokator Model RM 2N Geiger Counter
Made by Nucleonic Company of America in Brooklyn New York in the early 50's. A metal watertight case made this a rugged device. It wasn't convenient to remove the batteries as you had to remove ten screws from the base lid. If you find one it's a good bet there will be corroded batteries inside. As you can see from the video the meter decided to get sticky for its filming. A fairly common problem with many of these old devices. The Geiger tube high voltage is easily adjustable from 300v to 1600v which is a nice feature. This one still has its original test source, the little black stick that's stored in the hole and held in place by the probe cord. The original nonworking glass GM tube was replaced by a modern tube. Having the HV being adjustable made this easy. It originally used two 67.5v batteries and three1.5v, now running on converters.
