Zelenskyy rebuffs Trump’s proposal for rapid peace deal in Ukraine war

Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelenskyy dismissed U.S. President-elect Donald Trump’s plan for a quick peace deal between Ukraine and Russia, calling it a potential “loss” for Ukraine.

Trump had claimed he could end the war within 24 hours, but Zelenskyy emphasized that a rushed peace deal or cease-fire would lead to unfavorable outcomes for Ukraine.

He also rejected Hungarian Prime Minister Viktor Orbán’s call for a rapid cease-fire, noting that previous attempts had only led to further losses, including Crimea, Politico has reported.
