Gazelle Sharmahd condemns Biden admin for abandoning her father, a journalist executed by Iran
Gazelle Sharmahd, host of the “War & Freedom: Insight Talks” podcast, says the Biden administration ignored her family and lawyers’ calls to rescue her father Jamshid Sharmahd from Iran. Jamshid, a German-American citizen who ran a radio station criticizing the Iranian regime, was kidnapped by Iranian mullahs and tortured for four years until his execution on October 28, 2024. “We showed last year that we are willing to pay money. The Biden administration paid $6 billion to bring some hostages back. But for some unexplained reason, left my father behind even though he had a death sentence,” she says. “So, the murder of my father is not just because of the terrorists that murder and do bad stuff. It is also because of our government, our administration that has done nothing to protect American journalists like my father.”
