Situated on the northwest tip of Manhattan Island New York, Inwood was called the last of the Irish ghettos, where Irish accents were heard, advertisements for Irish games and functions were on display and Irish newspapers were sold. But in 1968 it looked as though this way of life would end with the arrival of other ethnic groups into the district.
