I have tried quite a few stick-on lights of this type but this 70 LED model is one the best designed and easiest to use so far.
In the branded and attractive product box, you receive the two light units, four magnetic/sticky mounting brackets, two padded mounts,a short USB charging cable, a set of three screws and a well written and easy to read User Guide.
The build quality seems excellent. Everything Seems robust and well made and nothing looks about to fail anytime soon. A longer charging lead would have been nice, but that would add to the cost I suppose. The light looks great, with a brushed metal finish with plastic endpoints.
There are three ways to mount each light. The two metal brackets can be screwed in place and the unit stuck magnetically to them, however only two areas of the light fitting are magnetic and so it will need to be carefully positioned to the brackets. The same is true if the brackets are held in place using the double-sided sticky tape which already in place on the brackets. Also, the motion/light sensor is on one end of the light unit, so be sure to position it in the best spot for triggering. Finally, the light unit can be stuck magnetically to any suitable metal surface.
Each light unit is 35 x 4 x 1 cm in size with a double row of 35 cool white LED’s behind a frosted screen with the motion sensor in the raised bubble on one end. Next to the sensor is the small control panel with buttons for Motion Detection Mode, Off and Always On Mode together with a button to select the 5 stage level. The controls are easy to access and simple to use, unlike some rivals I have tried. On the other end is a small pull out panel, perhaps for use as a hanging hook.
Charging the unit is done with the USB-C port on one end. The sensor bubble shows red during charging and changes to blue when the 2500mAh Lithium is fully charged. A full charge should take around two hours which should give around seven hours of continuous use and up to 45 days on standby. A plus point is that these lights will work when charging, a feature often lacking.
Once set the 120-degree wide sensing range motion detection turns the LEDs on for about twenty seconds when triggered. The light is not too harsh and is pleasantly cool to the eye.
This light is quite large so care should be taken where to locate it. It may well be too big and bright for some positions but will be fine in medium-sized or larger areas. It can be positioned for under-counter use but in fact can be used in dark areas, in a cupboard, on the stairs or anywhere where instant light is required.
At £28.99 it is not the cheapest I have tried but the set does work well and offers some advantages over the rivals I have tested and so I think it is a pretty decent buy.
