20241107 093528 Tux's Vet Visit

This is Tux's first "real" exam at the vet. I did bring him here in June soon after we arrived here in Texas to consult with the doctor about what we should do about possibly continuing any of the medications that he had been given when he was really sick during the previous month when he was still homeless.

Because of circumstances, I was unable to bring him back until today, whereupon he got a fairly comprehensive examination, including a no-shave ultrasound. All of his blood tests were said to be fine, and I only have to drop off a fresh fecal sample (yum...) for them to check out, although he did have one done just before we left California, which was negative for any buggers.

I was there for his ultrasound and he was very cooperative, even more than I expected. They had him laying on his back in a sling and he pretty much just laid there. As with his other vet visits, he seems to just go passive when he gets handled by the vet and the staff, which is very convenient for everyone involved -- especially since his claws and teeth are very sharp, but has never used them for either defense or offence in any significant way since I've known him. This definitely isn't to say that I don't get scratched a lot, but it's never a conscious tactic on his part.
