The US defence forces successfully tested the nuclear-capable intercontinental ballistic missile (ICBM) Minuteman III. The unarmed missile was launched from Vandenberg Space Force Base in California and traveled more than 4,000 miles across the Pacific Ocean in the direction of the Kwajalein Atoll.
