New data showed inflation in the United States has risen at the fastest rate since 1981, and the travel and tourism industries have already felt the force of the changes. In an infographic from Yahoo Finance, the Federal Reserve revealed prices over the last year have increased for several travel-related industries, including hotel rooms (25.1 percent), rental cars (23.4 percent), restaurants (6.9 percent) and recreation (4.8 percent).

How to Travel on a Budget and Still Enjoy It
If you live on a budget, like we do and like most people do. I have some tips for you.
You don’t have to go far to get the benefits that travel has to offer. Find local places, and do a day trip or over night trip.
Try camping like we do, that is always on of the cheapest ways to enjoy travel. You can get so mush out of camping by bringing your own bikes, kayaks or paddle board. This saves a ton on renting these types of things.
Visit family and friends. When you stay with family and friends you cut down on hotel costs and probably a little bit of food cost. You can buy groceries, have BBQ’s and dinners, and limit going out to eat.
When you are traveling to visit family and friends, pack snacks.
Choose Off-Peak Travel Times: Travel during the off-season to avoid peak pricing.

Book in Advance: Book flights, accommodations, and tours well in advance to get the best deals.
Use Travel Comparison Websites: Utilize websites like
Skyscanner, Kayak, and Booking.com to compare prices and find the best deals.
