12 Aug 2023 - CN 5467 & CN 5425 Departing Squamish For North Vancouver

While staying in Squamish, BC for a few days, I caught this CN train leaving for North Vancouver.

CN#5467 and CN#5425 are both EMD SD60s rated at 3800 hp a piece. One of my favorite sounds is the rumble of a EMD two-stroke diesel prime mover.

Aside from a lumber mill, I'm not aware of any other industries served by CN in Squamish. This line is former BC Rail territory and runs through the Rocky Mountains to Prince George. As far as I know, CN stopped running freights north of Squamish years ago. However, parts of the line are still used by the Rocky Mountaineer passenger service.
