Helping Democrats Understand the Election - LIVE Deprogrammed with Keri Smith

Trump has won the 2024 election with a clear mandate; he seized both the popular and electoral vote. I see many friends of mine online, who voted Democrat, who are posting things about how they don't understand. How they don't know how this could happen. This is not a gloating video. This is not an "I told you so" video. I am leaving the funny memes, and sarcasm, and celebration with like-minded friends to my social media for now - because in this video I want to talk to YOU, the Democrat who doesn't understand what happened and who is fearful and/or angry, but mostly just shocked.

This is not a video for the ones who don't care to understand. This is not a video for the ones who have doubled down and decided they already know why Trump won (same old doggies: it's racism, sexism, Russia, right?). You guys think you hold all the answers, though you - like your more open-minded compatriots - are also reeling in pain, anger, fear and shock...if you're honest. This is not for you, because you think you already have the answers.

No, this is a video for the Democratic voters in 2024 who *want to understand* even if it doesn't change their opinion. I watched The View today for the first time. A panel of women, all with the exact same opinions and the exact same blind spots. They were not helpful to you in the slightest, were they? Why look for answers from people who are just as in the dark as you are?

I was once where you are. I was one of the people who cried when Trump won in 2016. I was one of the ones who could NOT understand what had happened and went looking for answers. Like you, those of you with a curious mind, I was not satisfied with force-fed answers that didn't make sense (racism, sexism, Russia). I wanted to know the REAL reasons, so we could all prevent him from winning again. And what I was told by my cult-like social circle at the time was that I was not allowed to ask such questions. That I was not allowed to talk to people of opposing views. That I was not allowed to REALLY LISTEN to them and try to understand it. That sent me on the journey to where I am today. Don't worry. I am not saying that you will end up where I am now. Don't be afraid. :) But I am saying that I have been where you are, and if you truly want to understand, I will try my best to explain to you today - with love - what you cannot yet see. What has been obscured from your view.
