Truck vs Trolley Mass Casualty Incident

On November 5, 2024, at approximately 4:34 PM, Chula Vista Fire & Police responded to reports of a traffic collision on L St & Industrial Blvd. Upon arrival, they encountered a silver truck that had collided with a northbound blue line trolley. Multiple agencies and ambulances from the county responded to this mass casualty incident. There were 17 patients total transported to local hospitals with 3 of those being major traumas. The blue line trolley is closed in both directions as well as L st from Industrial Blvd to the 5 freeway for at least the next few hours for the investigation.
