Episode 126 - All the President's Men: E. Howard Hunt (Part I)

Oval Office tapes from 1971 - 1974 reveal a lot about Nixon's concern(s) over Watergate. Strangely, his concerns had virtually NOTHING to do with the Watergate break-in. In his own words, his concerns were as follows: the bank account in Mexico City, the "Bay of Pigs" guys, the "very sensitive covert projects further south of the border", the "who shot John" angle, and E. Howard Hunt, whom Nixon said was "the key, the lever" and whom if investigated thoroughly, would be a "scab" that would "uncover a lot of things" that would be "detrimental for the CIA, and for the whole country". In truth, E. Howard Hunt was a threat to Nixon himself and he knew it.
