Creation Story

Here is an artistic rendering of Genesis 1 through the lens of the entire Bible.

“In the beginning, God created the heavens and the earth.” (Genesis 1:1)
All that was created was created by the Word, who later became Jesus Christ. (John 1:1)

As God laid the foundations of the earth, “the morning stars sang together, and all the sons of God shouted for joy.” (Job 38:4-7) All was very good! (Genesis 1:31)

But then, something happened. The earth became formless and empty—chaos had taken hold. (Genesis 1:2)

Lucifer, an anointed cherub, perfect in wisdom and beauty, let pride corrupt him. (Ezekiel 28:12) He sought to exalt himself above God, leading a rebellion and convincing a third of the angels to join him. (Isaiah 14) His rebellion brought ruin upon creation, and he was cast down from heaven. (Revelation 12:7-9)

But God’s plan for creation didn’t end there. He restored the heavens, the earth, the sea, and all that is in them. (Genesis 1 & 2)
