Landlocked California

No breeze of grace was found.
Till an oddball took this town.
New waves crash into the sound.
Genesis o’ genius abound.

In this Landlocked California.
Just askin’ to join ya.

I couldn’t save ya cuz I’d never change ya.
As though you’re wrong.
I’d never blame ya cuz I kept ya waiting.
Miles too long.

Sun’s setting in the left till now.
It’s ok to leave shadows back there.
Early rising to the morning tide says,
“Someone’s having fun somewhere.”

More than a ship un-sunk.
What’s the plunder ya hunt.
More than an island girl.
Some lucky boy’s brand new world.

In this Landlocked California.
No surprise I warned ya.

I’d never hate ya yea I sure forgave ya.
I was part of the wrong.
But oceans make a man who can drown in sand.
It’s just the start of a song.

We’re wise pirates to a harbor’s glow.
Lighthouse allure all sailors know.
To promises through hostile seas.
On the run true North aren’t we.
On the run true North aren’t we?

In this Landlocked California.
They’ve never torn me from ya.

I couldn’t save ya cuz I’d never change ya.
I was most of the wrong.
But oceans make a man who can drown in sand.
It’s just the start of a song.

We’re wise pirates to a harbor’s glow.
Lighthouse allure all sailors know.
To promises through hostile seas.
On the run true North aren’t we.
On the run true North aren’t we?
On the run true North aren’t we?
