Born in 1912, Alice found a love for science fiction and fantasy at a time when most writers of those genres were men.
But, she, too, had stories to tell.
After gaining experience writing historical novels, Alice moved into science fiction and fantasy. However, learning that her book sales would increase if she were a man, Alice gave herself a pen-name, Andre Norton, and soon thereafter became a prolific novelist giving young readers and future creators a glimpse of the future that inspired even more fantastic tales.
