Assassin’s Creed Shadows Boss Says Ubisoft Needs to Push DEI Even if it Hurts Games

The boss for Ubisoft’s upcoming title Assassin’s Creed Shadows is saying the company should still continue to focus on DEI even to the detriment of their games.

Marc-Alexis Côté has acknowledged Ubisoft has been putting an emphasis on DEI in their recent games and that has not gone over well, but the company wants to continue to do so because they are true believers in the cause. He tries to justify it by saying their games have always been diverse, but there is a distinction between having accurate representation in the choice of characters vs trying to find a racially diverse character to focus the story around. The fact the company is continuing to promote an agenda that has been harmful to the quality of their games suggests Ubisoft will not produce games worth playing with the current leadership.
