It is not until you read the transcript of Justice Timothy Lipson’s oral decision on August 2, 2024, that you get to understand the extent to which Benjamin Spicer’s Charter rights were so violated. His unlawful arrest, during those dark days of February 2022 when the Prime Minister unlawfully invoked the Emergencies Act, stands as yet another statistic in government overreach.
