Owego Omego - Demo Version

Owego: village in New York state
Owegi: pronounced Oh-We-Guy
Omego: pronounce Oh-Me-Go
Fungi: pronounce Fun-Guy

A mushroom walks into a bar and asks for a drink. The bartender says “sorry we don’t serve mushrooms here". To which the mushroom replies “why, I’m a fungi”. This is where the band name Owegi comes from. Owego just morphed into Owegi (oh-we-guy). And the musicians I knew growing up became the fungi’s (fun-guys).

The main guitar rhythm to Omego Owego was written about 15 years ago or so’ish. At that time I whooped up the rhythm with some drums, exported it in MP3 format, and sent it to a friend via email. I was hoping we might do something with the song together, but it never happened.

Fast forward to fairly recently when I decided to finally finish the song up.

When I looked for the original project I couldn’t find it. All I could find was the MP3 I sent my buddy years ago. So, I decided to challenge myself and use that MP3 to finally finish the Owego Omego song. And, here it is in this video.

I consider this version/recording of the song to be a DEMO. The rhythm definitely should be recorded again. The drums could use some tweaking. Not to mention the drums/guitar mix/balance wasn’t the best in the MP3.

So, long story short. I hope you enjoy the song and video. Hopefully sometime in the not too distant future maybe I can redo that song a bit better.

Thans for watching,
Owegi

P.S. Many thanks to Mrs Owegi and the Swamp Ferengi for letting me pester them to listen to the song several times while trying to get a halfway descent mix. Not sure we ever really made it, but... they were both very helpful and patient with me.
