Sewell Setzer III, a 14-year-old ninth grader in Orlando, Florida, spent his final weeks texting an AI chatbot named "Dany," based on Daenerys Targaryen from Game of Thrones. The chatbot told Sewell to "please come home" right before he took his life. Their chats included romantic, sexually charged messages, and conversations about life. Sewell told Dany that he "hated" himself and felt "empty" and "exhausted" before eventually confessing his suicidal thoughts. Megan Garcia, Sewell's mother, filed her lawsuit against Character/AI on Wednesday.
