Consistently On Par

I really love the consistency of God and I lean into His faithfulness a lot to strengthen my trust and activate my belief in Him. God has been so consistently faithful in all of His ways with humanity throughout all time. I play golf once or twice a week. I confess, I do not have a consistent game. One hole I have a beautiful drive, the sound of connection, the ease of my swing and boom, there that ball goes in a beautiful way. God is so like that faithful to the core in His consistency, only life has never been a game to Him, He has given His all, His full life put into us, nothing less than His best. He is never distracted from His life of loving us well, growing us through and bringing us into eternity with Him. God is consistently on mission for us.

Consistency is really important in the game of golf. My golf game is so inconsistent. I know it is because I let so much distract me. If I have a bad iron shot and I hit the ground and flub the ball forward, it ticks me off and then my emotions get involved which makes the next shot worse 🤪 Life can be like that, not making the best choice with that every moment to every choice faithfulness to God. The truth us, us human beings react emotionally to our life situations and that details our consistency, our faithfulness to being found like Christ, in that purity of righteousness He is so amazingly famous for. Oh, to be like Him…

I was just thinking… learning to be like Jesus, simply-significantly staying focused, intentional, faithful and being consistent to act like I know I should, letting God work out of the human weakness I have, letting Him shine through what I know I can’t do right, being my strength, goodness, purity of righteousness, I could be on par and better every moment to every choice, faithful.

We get taken way outside our comfort zone. Beware comfort zone crash is ahead! Things don’t always go our way, especially in golf and in life. We are consistently learning and growing, to lean into God, Who does empower us, Who can equip us with the knowledge and skill to be on par, faithful and consistent in our life. God is consistently faithful to us, therefore ending a day faithful to God is a huge success. Faithfulness to the game of golf, not giving up or quitting, but giving it our best, this is success. Faithful, consistency is success. God has showed us that throughout the ages. That never give up, never give in consistent faithfulness to us. We should mirror His focus, His drive, His finishing well… consistently faithful to do so.

Think about your golf game, if we stayed focused, not letting our emotions, people, things, anything at all distract our focus of that hole in front of us, how well would we do. We already have been equipped to play well, it is being faithful in the little things that gets us to the flag in record time, with a victorious number on the score card.

In the game of life, that vital-vertical connection with Jesus, that heart to heart relationship, equips us with more of Him and less of us and this is when we play well, this is when we win the day, faithful to Him, consistent in all of our ways to stay on mission, from every moment to every choice, connecting… powerfully with His way, truth and life.
