Here in the United States, it is wall-to-wall politics, day in and day out. The hotly contested race for the White House has exposed every worm in the wood to come out to help their guy win. And the concept of America voting to choose their leader has been replaced with a world-class power play involving foreign actors, deep pockets, and industrial propaganda.
Just look at the number of Hollywood actors and singers...never before seen in one place together, but clustered up for Kamala, they're reading their scripts and getting paid.
Tax exempt charities, formed just last year, collecting billions of tax dollars from Joe Biden to promote more democrats. It's illegal.
And the deep reach of Silicon Valley, promoting those who'll help them in return once installed in seats of power.
We even have the Labor Party sending junkets of "volunteers" to the States to help promote the Democrats...shocking, but how different is it from the meddling that the United States federal government does in elections around the world?
And of course there is Elon Musk, with his million dollar daily lottery, getting swing-state voters to commit to promoting the values enshrined in the 1st and 2nd Amendments to our Constitution...Free Speech, and the right to bear arms...and Elon himself reminding us that if we lose this election to the globalist-communist regime, it will be the last election...for once we lose control to the tyrant class, we're all serfs to them...forever.
Socially, I typically look to the UK to see what's coming in ten years, and to California in five. But it seems the gap is closing. The problems the UK faces with rubber boat people and globalist taxing authorities...the runaway sense of government knows best...the loss of individual liberty, speech and heritage at the hands of those who will decide where you'll go, what you may say and with whom you must interact and how...it's an open-air prison... a ghetto of mind and body. Nothing could be starker than to see Labour Party delegations in the United States going door-to-door for the Harris campaign. The US is the last remaining Five Eyes nation to not have an official free speech crackdown; and the visible fight over Twitter's reach demonstrates just how critical free expression is. For so long, it was a given that in the marketplace of ideas, more discussion meant a chance to make your case and debate, to win over others. But when the goal of so many is to stifle and mute opinion, we must ask why they aren't able to defend their goals, policies and philosophy...and the answer is easy. Communism has failed everywhere it has been tried. The policies don't achieve the promised ends, no...it is a mechanism to slavery and serfdom once again.
I have this saying when people ask me about the clunker computer I have...they would think a technologist would have a hot rod of a machine...I say "the cobbler's children have no shoes." What people expect of a specialist, like a cobbler who makes shoes for a living, is that they would be well-heeled, their family would have nice shoes, at least... but sometimes we spend all our effort on others rather than focusing that talent on our own needs. But it can be used to describe the failures of those who promise to provide, and fail to do so. We only need to look at the open borders, the long waiting times for health care, the hungry and poor and homeless among us to know that government charity never solves the root problem, because that doesn't keep the need going. Innovation and entrepreneurial spirit...it doesn't come from big government, ever.
What we need is less government and greater freedom to allow people to have excess, and encourage them to trade and provide for those who cannot do so for themselves. Freer markets. Greater liberty. More wealth in the hands of citizens deciding for themselves and their families what they need and want.
It's the system that works...and it's what we must choose, at the polls and with our wallets, with our time and with our effort.
