Beautiful Door County, Wisconsin in the fall, the day is October 22, 2015, sunny and warm at 63 degrees. Some of the native trees to northeastern Wisconsin have lost most of their leaves by this date, but as you will see, most of the sugar maples are in full color; some of the birches still have their yellowish leaves; some of the sumac still have their bright red leaves, and the oak's dark red to purple leaves will hold on into winter. Although fall is the end of the beautiful warm summers here, fall is a great time in Door County with its many festivals; the hunting season begins, and everyone prepares for the winter to come.
