This Ground Beef Stroganoff is hearty, savory, and easy to prepare. It's chock-full of umami flavor & the creamy hamburger gravy is equally great over pasta or potatoes. Comfort food that is budget friendly, kitchen friendly and family friendly. Make lots, because the over-lefts are fantastic!!!

Instructions:
Brown 3 lbs ground beef. Remove excess fat from the pan and add 1 cup chopped onion, 3 tsp salt and 1 tsp black pepper. Saute until the onion is soft, then add 1/3 cup flour and saute for another 3-4 minutes.

Add 4-5 cups broth, chicken or beef and cook over medium high heat until the broth thickens. Then add 2 tsp Beef Base – I thinned it with a bit of the warm broth before adding it to the burger. Then add 1 can cream of mushroom soup and a package (about 2 cups) of your pre-made umami mushroom & spinach blend from your freezer. The umami mushroom/spinach blend is on one of the healthiest & best fast-food flavor boosters that instantly adds savory depth that normally takes hours of simmering to get. But if you don’t have it, saute 1 lb of mushrooms, 2 cups of chopped spinach, 2 tbsp parsley, 2 cloves minced garlic, salt & pepper, 1 tbs tomato paste and 1 tsp onion powder. Saute until all of the liquid is reduced and the mushrooms begin to brown, then add to the burger mixture.

Let this simmer for 5 minutes, then taste and adjust the salt and pepper if needed. I add a little more pepper and about 2 Tbsp of minced sweet red peppers, or you could use paprika. Then add ½ cup sour cream and ½ cup heavy cream. Done!!!
