80% of My Time Goes to This One Skill

In 2016, I was sitting in the audience at a Magnetic Marketing conference and heard Dan Kennedy say from the stage, “If you don’t manage your time, you won’t have to worry about managing your money.”

Everything changed for me in that moment.

Up until then, I was worried about money and giving too much of my time away.

I was responding to every Request for Proposal that came my way.

I was saying yes to every prospect.

I was bending over backward to win a client only for them to not be a right fit, leaving me burnt out, overworked and underpaid.

My days were eaten up with soul-sucking work and tasks that left me emotionally bankrupt.

See, when we lose sight of what really matters in entrepreneurship, everything can easily go awry.

I decided to take inventory and design a business that works for me and not the other way around.

In the last few years, I have had moments when this focus has been wildly successful and moments when I have let it slip.

Like you, I am a work in progress.

But, just that one mindset shift has changed everything for me as an entrepreneur.

That’s why I now spend 80% of my time on this ONE skill.
