Syndey Ross Singer is a renowned medical anthropologist and director of the Institute for the Study of Culturogenic Disease. As a leader in applied medical anthropology, he merges his background in medicine, biochemistry, and anthropology to explore cultural causes of disease. Alongside his wife, he conducted the first-ever study on the link between bras and breast cancer, documented in their book *Dressed to Kill: The Link Between Breast Cancer and Bras*, first published in 1995 and expanded in 2018. Their findings have inspired global research supporting this link and led the lingerie industry to create safer, looser bras without underwires.

Despite extensive evidence, the cancer industry has largely ignored this bra-cancer connection, often propagating misinformation, including through AI. Encouragingly, bra usage is on the decline, particularly among millennials, a shift accelerated by COVID lockdowns. Research shows that bra-free women have nearly the same low breast cancer risk as men, while tight, prolonged bra use can increase risk over 100-fold. This bra-cancer link is a crucial public health message, akin to the association between smoking and lung cancer.
