TOSSING OUT ALL THE EMOTIONAL BAGGAGE
Colossians 3:13 New King James Version
13 bearing with one another, and forgiving one another, if anyone has a complaint against another; even as Christ forgave you, so you also must do.
TO ALLOW GOD TO HEAL THE WOUNDS OF YOUR HEART. GOOD EVENING IN YESHUA DEAR ONES!!!
I'm going to admit right now guys, and state that I am wrestling with these questions from this morning's devotional. I'm wrestling with them, because I'm wondering under the context/premise that this morning's devotional writer, Jennifer Benson Schuldt believes forgiveness to be. I especially struggle with it after reading this morning scripture, because again, I'm just wondering what her definition of forgiveness is. However, I'd like to share these questions from this morning's devotional with all of you tonight, because I think they have value, and I believe that there is a purpose God has for them. So I invite you to check these questions out, and think about them for yourself, and I pray that God will challenge your heart through them as He is doing for me.
What types of offenses are hardest for you to forgive?
How does forgiving others reflect your relationship with your heavenly Father?
Tonight, my friends, I'd like to share some things that I've learned not just from this passage of scripture, but on what it truly means to forgive, to be able to get rid of that emotional, full of wounds baggage in our hearts, so that we can be truly set free from the bitterness, anger, shame, hurt, and everything else that that baggage has enslaved us in. Come join me in this vlog tonight my friends, and learn what it means to be set free from that baggage in Christ Jesus! 😊
I pray that if there is a relationship, that has been damaged, broken, or completely messed up, whether it's through your fault, theirs, or both, that you make that first move in reconciliation, and choose to try to restore it. This may mean swallowing your pride, and apologizing, and/or humbly choosing to forgive that person, but with God’s help it can be done. This doesn't mean that we allow someone to continually abuse, violate, and outright manipulate us, because we have every right to set boundaries, and tell them they need to stay away from us. However, we need to choose to hold what that person has done, accountable to God, and not to us. We need to learn in many instances, to just “let it go”, and be willing to overcome whatever evil has inflicted us, with good that comes from God.
