National Park Service adds locations to Underground Rail Road sites.

Two Battle Creek sites have been added by the National Park Service to the
National Underground Railroad Network to Freedom Program. Perry Sanford’s
grave in Oak Hill Cemetery and the Hussey House. Sanford was a self-
emancipator who escaped enslavement in 1846, and settled in Battle Creek, the Hussey family assisted freedom seekers with food, shelter, and aid. David Barr Michigan News Source.
