Gossip Girl | Maureen Vanderbilt offers Serena a role as mistress

The Debarted is the 12th episode of Season 3 of Gossip Girl.

Serena is now having a full-fledged affair with Tripp, much to the disapproval of her family and friends. Tripp takes her to one of the van der Bilt vacation homes where they decide they only want to be with one another, even at the cost of losing other important things in their lives.

But later, Tripp goes to meet with his wife, Maureen, and lies to Serena, saying he is with his grandfather. Maureen still wants to be married to Tripp and they strike a deal. She will not tell Rufus and Lily's secret if he agrees to stay married to her. She tempts Tripp with his burgeoning political career and persuades him that it's a win-win situation if he remains married to her in public and with Serena in private.
