The lesson on October 27, 2024 was part 13 of “The Book of Matthew” study. Wayne picked up from the previous lesson to emphasize the importance of Right Division to understand the context of the prayer that was given to the disciples. Wayne emphasized that the imperatives in the Lord’s Prayer is to disciples with the proper heart and mindset to be leaders and judges in the Kingdom of Heaven. It is like each disciple has the mindset of ” Bring it on” and I will be used of thee. Wayne has us look at passages in Ephesians. First, in Ephesians 1:15-20 (KJV) to compare it to what was given to the disciples. “15 Wherefore I also, after I heard of your faith in the Lord Jesus, and love unto all the saints, 16 Cease not to give thanks for you, making mention of you in my prayers; 17 That the God of our Lord Jesus Christ, the Father of glory, may give unto you the spirit of wisdom and revelation in the knowledge of him: 18 The eyes of your understanding being enlightened; that ye may know what is the hope of his calling, and what the riches of the glory of his inheritance in the saints, 19 And what is the exceeding greatness of his power to usward who believe, according to the working of his mighty power, 20 Which he wrought in Christ, when he raised him from the dead, and set him at his own right hand in the heavenly places,”. Secondly, in Ephesians 3:14-19 (KJV) “14 For this cause I bow my knees unto the Father of our Lord Jesus Christ, 15 Of whom the whole family in heaven and earth is named, 16 That he would grant you, according to the riches of his glory, to be strengthened with might by his Spirit in the inner man; 17 That Christ may dwell in your hearts by faith; that ye, being rooted and grounded in love, 18 May be able to comprehend with all saints what is the breadth, and length, and depth, and height; 19 And to know the love of Christ, which passeth knowledge, that ye might be filled with all the fulness of God.” Compare these to what was given to the disciples in Matthew. We have a different hope and calling. We then looked at how the Devil quotes scripture in Matthew 4:6 compared to the where it is quoted from Psalm 91:11-13 (KJV). The Devil adds and subtracts. That brings darkness. By using Right Division, it brings light!

The scripture reading was from Psalms 91:11-13 (KJV) “11 For he shall give his angels charge over thee, to keep thee in all thy ways. 12 They shall bear thee up in their hands, lest thou dash thy foot against a stone. 13 Thou shalt tread upon the lion and adder: the young lion and the dragon shalt thou trample under feet.”
