Why Would They Come? Are You Giving Non-Believers ANY Reason To Come To Your Church?

Sadly, there is virtually nothing we can say about the Modern American Church that would be guaranteed to convince someone to come to Jesus. Our buildings, programs, Orders of Service, and Personalities are never going to enough. The proof of this lies in the simple fact that so many churches are dying. We are clearly not offering those on the outside a sufficient reason to come.

Join us and see that on the day the Holy Spirit empowered the Church, non-Believers were certainly given a reason to come. They came from all across Jerusalem to find out what the Galileans had that they did not. But those days seem to be long in the past. Not because the Holy Spirit changed, but because we did. If we want people to come to Jesus once again, then we must return to being what they were. It's that simple, yet that difficult.

When I planted a church while living in North Carolina, our Motto was “The Church of Acts Is Alive!”. And we tried to live that out every day. Rather than looking like the Catholic Heresy, which is what virtually every church does, we wanted to look like the Church the Holy Spirit empowered on that Pentecost Sunday ten days after Jesus ascended into Heaven. If we want to stop our Churches from dying, we have to give those who have no interest in coming a reason to. That reason is not our buildings, programs, or Order of Service. It has to be the Cross. It has to be that the Holy Spirit is moving among us and they can see Jesus of Nazareth, the Son of God, in us. Otherwise, we will continue to die and be nothing more than a Country Club no one wants to belong to.
